MIM-29’s Exit Trip in Hokkaido, Japan
Posted : 31/07/2017
MIM-29 Exit Trip took place during 17th to 21st June 2017 in Japan's Hokkaido.  The trip is not only to mark the graduation of MIM students, but it is meant to provide us with a new perspective and learning experience to prepare all of us to become well-groomed MIM alumni.
The trip started by our visit to a top Japanese company in beer brewery: Asahi Breweries production line.  Asahi’s greatness is evidenced in 38% market share captured in a gigantic alcohol industry.  The strategic planning to support these huge sales resulted in an amazing production line which can produce up to 1,500 cans in 60 seconds.  In addition, production is not the only concerned factor here.  Asahi’s top priority is to build a sustainable growth by prioritizing society and community to their plan.  This is a real life example of holistic marketing concept which concerns relationship marketing that inspired me.
The next stop was to learn how Sapporo created their brand story as we visited Sapporo Beer Museum. Their history is very interesting in terms of how they adapted themselves towards a dynamic environment.  For example, a marketing communication was shifted from using women as their brand ambassador towards men as the target market and their perception has changed.  Sapporo not only communicated with their customers within Japan, but they successfully expanded globally too!
Apart from alcohol beverage, we had a chance to visit Snow Brand Meg Milk, ICHIYA Chocolate Factory, and LeTao flagship store.  In each visit, we had the unique chance to closely experience the history and the unique management style which can be found only in Japan.  However, the company visit is only a part of the Exit Trip story.  There is a lot more on the go. Knowledge can be found in any different perspective everywhere and every time.  During the trip, I had the chance to learn Japanese culture, behavior, and lifestyle by observing the surroundings even in Lawson convenience stores!
I realized the true meaning of MIM spirit, contribution, and sacrifice from this trip. You will learn how to be a good MIM alumnus/alumna from this trip.  You will be surprised that their spirit and contribution are limitless.  After coming back from the trip, I promised to myself that I will contribute more and more to MIM. Only one thing that I can say is that “You cannot miss this trip no matter what the reason is”.
I would like to thank  Ajarn L who is the best Ajarn ever.  No wonder why she was always surrounded by many great people! Thanks to MIM office who made this unique learning trip happen.  Thanks to P’Beer the  MIM alumnus who always supports MIM.  Last but not least, thanks you my beloved friends MIM-29 for being together and supporting each other for the past 2 years.

An Interview with CNN by Krating Poonpol (MIM-14)
One of the most notable and successful MIM alumni who has jostled promising startups in Thailand should be no other man than Krating (Ruangroj) Poonpol.
This has been a popular question widely asked among people, marketers or non-marketers.
