Terra Accelerator: A Food + Agtech Accelerator in Silicon Valley by a Thai Startup
After a period of trying and waiting JuiceInnov8 a Thai Startup successfully joins Terra Accelerator in Silicon Valley this April!
JuiceInnov8, spin-out from a Moot Corp project in 2014 by Chonchayong Trairatkeyoon a member of MIM-26 and his team has been selected for admittance to the inaugural cohort of the Terra Accelerator, a food & agriculture tech startup accelerator in the Bay Area in April - July 2017.  Co-hosted by Rabobank the biggest bank for agricultural business headquartered in the Netherlands and RocketSpace the joint venture between Technology Campus/ Co-working Space and Corporate Innovation Services, Terra Accelerator is the first-of-its-kind program bringing together the most disruptive startups in food & agriculture industry and progressive corporations to fuel cross-industry & open innovation.  Global corporate collaborators of the program include Givaudan, BASF, Grupo Azucarero Mexico, BSM, OSI, AgroFresh and Griffith Foods.
It was a gigantic leap for JuiceInnov8 to be selected by Terra Accelerator out of 275 companies worldwide.  The first screening saw some 50 companies entitled for interviews but only 16 of the whole lot made their ways to the first cohort, and Thailand's JuiceInnov8 by Chonchayong was one among those 16 companies!  Terra Accelerator program will start on April 6th, 2017 at RocketSpace in San Francisco and will wrap up with a public demo day in August 2017.
JuiceInnov8 produced natural fruit juices with 95% less sugar and no artificial sweeteners without sacrificing taste or goodness which is an ideal way to tackle a world problem of high sugar consumption.  It is a great example of business plans developed in the classroom turned into real business and progressed to grow in a worldwide scale. We congratulate Chonchayong and his team on this excellent project and wish the team all the best in the final round.
